Natural Gas & Propane Generators - KOHLER generators provide worry-free emergency power to supply your total electrical needs for days, or even weeks. And unlike portable generators that require refueling every few hours, KOHLER backup power systems are fueled by a permanent LP or natural gas connection. No hassle and no worries.
When combined with a transfer switch, your KOHLER residential backup generator system can be sized and wired for your home in one of two power distribution scenarios:
Essential Loads Power Distribution - This scenario supplies electrical power only to those devices you've pre-selected to receive power during a utility outage or power interruption. These devices are wired through a secondary, or essential loads, distribution panel. This allows a smaller generator to be used. Click here to see how it works.
Whole House Power Distribution - This scenario enables you to power all devices in your home with the generator, as if they were using normal utility power. Click here to see how it works.

| Diesel Backup Generators - Kohler Power Systems introduces three new compact diesel generators rated from 10kW to 20kW, featuring clean emissions, ultra-low sound levels and digital power control – all in a very compact package. The new compact diesels offer excellent answers for emergency power applications where space is at a premium, including telecom cell sites, small commercial buildings and residential applications.
The new designs are also much quieter – 68d(B)A average at seven meters at full load. This level equates to approximately the same sound level as a vacuum cleaner.
Built with Yanmar® CARB/EPA Tier II emission-compliant engines, all three models (10REOD, 15REOD and 20REOD) feature reduced engine noise emissions as a result of design changes in the engine block, crank case and fuel-injection pump.

Transfer Switches - Installs inside or outside your home and continuously monitors utility power. If power loss is detected, these switches can automatically start your generator whether you're home or not!
Automatic
Within seconds of a utility power outage, the transfer switch - working in tandem with the generator - starts the genset to restore power to the home.
Performance
Slightly larger than the main distribution panel, the automatic transfer switch exercises the generator weekly to keep it performing at peak efficiency. | |
